This covers the qwebmerchantfeed.com website and what the QWeb Merchant Feed plugin sends to our platform. The short version: feed generation happens entirely on your own server, and the plugin makes no outbound request until you switch on a feature that needs one.
1. Feed generation sends us nothing
Reading your catalogue, building the feed and writing it to disk all happen on your server. With the audit disabled and no Google connection, the plugin contacts us only to validate a licence key. Your product data never reaches us.
2. Licence validation
When you enter a licence key the plugin sends the key, your site URL and the plugin version, so we can confirm the licence is valid and count activations against the plan you bought. We store the site URL against the licence so you can see and deactivate your own activations.
3. The feed audit (opt-in)
If you turn the audit on, the plugin sends us the URL of your generated feed. Our service fetches that URL and analyses the product data in it: titles, descriptions, prices, identifiers, categories and the other attributes Google reads.
That data is the same data you publish to Google. We use it to produce your audit findings and to compute your score history over time. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models sold to anyone else.
If your feed is behind HTTP authentication and you supply credentials so we can fetch it, those credentials are used for that one fetch. They are never written to our database, never logged, and never stored in the site record.
4. Connecting a Google account (optional)
If you connect Google Merchant Center, we store an access token and a refresh token for your account, both encrypted at rest, plus the Merchant Center account id you select. We use them only to carry out actions you ask for in the plugin.
Disconnecting revokes the grant at Google as well as deleting it here, so disconnecting means what it says.
5. The website and your account
Buying a licence creates an account with your email address and billing details. Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal and we never see or store your card number. We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax law requires.
6. Retention and deletion
Audit results are kept so you can see whether your feed is improving. You can delete a site and its audit history from your account at any time, which removes the findings and the score history. Deleting your account removes your personal data, subject to the invoice records we are legally required to retain.
7. Your rights and contact
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the support address on this site and we will action it.
